Often times the best way to determine value is to compare your furniture against a similar item at your local quality furniture store. Chances are, the furniture you own is better constructed using much higher grade materials than most of the furniture you are likely to purchase at that furniture store. Using that comparison, you may be able to determine a budget on what you could reasonably spend to refinish your existing furniture.
This choice is really up to you. Your refinished furniture can look as good or better than when it was new. We can maintain the same look, or give your refinished furniture a new look by changing the color & the hardware. We use high quality, moisture resistant catalyzed lacquers & varnishes that in many cases, will hold up longer than the original finish. With older furniture, you may choose to keep a more traditional aged look. We will be happy to help you make the choice that's right for you.
We normally will have your furniture anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. In cases where the item is highly used, we will make arrangements to get the piece back in service within a couple of weeks from the time of pick up. Keep in mind that finishes need adequate time to cure.
A very old or Historically important furniture may command a better price if it's original finish is intact. But for the 99.9% of what's left, leaving a finish in poor condition will lower it's value and hasten it's demise. We will always do our best to help you make the best choice for your individual circumstance.
No, we do not dip furniture. We hand strip, or use a flow tray. A flow tray is much like hand stripping but a little faster. It will not harm the glue joints and is completely veneer safe.
We accept check, Visa or Mastercard. Typically, we require 25% of your payment up front, with the remaining balance due at completion.
